FEATHERSTON NOTES.

Monday. On Saturday the new proprietors ot tho lioynl Oak Hotel, Carterton, woro passengers by tho evening train, in the porson of Messrs Cress Bros., late of Blenheim. They liavo brought over their well-knownracers among which are Yon Tempsky foreshore, Captain 13oison and Arbor Tree, and they intend starling training stables in Carterton. The Rev. A, V, Grace, intimated last evening, that ho hopes to have all who are preparing for confirmation in Fcatherston confirmed here.
Complaints are being made about various parts of the Underbill Koad, which is simply disgraceful in places, there being mud about a foot deep. To-day was Court day, but there was no business. Tho S.M. did not nppear, but one of the counsel was present,
