, Dukhdin, Saturday. • Ada Lipport, 37 years of age, wife of the licensee of tho Scotia Hotel, North Dunedin, was burricd'ta death last night. Tho woman went to bed about ,8 o'clock, a candlo being left horning in tho room, which was visited by the servant twice or thrice. On going to the room a little before ton s tho servant found tho whole room on fire, and gavo an alarm. bti-enuousefiFortsworemade to'rescue the woman, but these wero baffled by the flames aud smoke.
