A SEVERE COLD,
Mr William Harding writes from 'Ohine: tahi,' Paddington, Sydney, under date May 9, 1894:—" Having accidentally discovered the efficacy of Si. Jacob's Oil under a different method of application from those prescribed in the directions, I forward it to you in order that jon may, if jou wish, have it included in tho ordinary directions for use, as it may provo valuable to many persons in cases of ACUTE INFLAMMATION, r-'omo time ago I caught a very severe cold, which settled on my chest. The inflammation becamo so acute that I found it necessary to employ strong remedies. I had A MUSTARD I'LASTtB APPLIED FOR THlltrY MINUTES, tut it failed tn take effect. I immediately had another mixed with whisky, wbichis perhaps tliestrongcit form in which a mustard plaster can be prepared, This was also applied for thirty minute, but it likewise had no cflcot. I then thought I would MAKK AN EXPERIMENT WITH ST. JACOB'S OILBY APPIiVING IT IN THE FORM OF A PACK -on i small scale, of course, 1 soaked apiece of cotton rug about four inches square witli the oil, an I placed it nest the skin.and over it two or three folds of flannel. In less than thrco minutes it made its presence known with nmoh severity. I kept it applied for twenty minutes. IT DID ITS WORK THOROUGHLY, AMD EFFECTUALLY REDUCED THE INFLAMMATION. I always keep a bottle of St, Jacob's Odin the house, nnd have frequently found it of groat service to both children and adults." St. Jacobs Oil acts like ningic, It is tho universal household remedy for pain. Sold everywhere in Australasia. Price 3/- per I bottle,
