GREYTOWN NOTES.
.(From Our Own Correspondent). Wednesday. A meeting of the Greytown Brass Band wits held in the Band-room last evening, n full attendance of members being present, Mr W. Huigh in the chair. It was decided to hold a plain and fancy dress Ball some time ill September, date to be fixed Inter on, Resolved to send to England for a parcel of Enterprise music books. A letter was read from the Mechanics football team (who were engaged buildingthc Featherston Town Hall) asking the Band if they would play at the match arranged for, in Fcatlierston tomorrow nfternooiuvitlm Featlicrston team. It was unanimously- decided to do so. The Band also decided to play selections on the Herniation lteserye on Sunday, August sth, and in front of the Foresters' Hall next Monday, evening, when the annual social in connection with St. Luke's Church takes place.
Mr W. Haigh has turned out a very creditablo banner, for tho Mechanics football team to-morrow, It represents two ladders, paint pots, etc., worked on a large-sized sheet, and Mr W. Haigh deserves credit for his artistic ability.
