FIRE AT KURIPUNI.
'At about half-past ono this morning, rcsidonts of Mnstorton were roused by a vigorous alarm on tho fivcbolls. Tho cause proved to bo a five nt Kuripuni Lano, by which a cottago owned and occupied by Mr 11. Hasmusson' was totally destroyed, Tho fire, which iR supposed to havo, started over the chimnoypicco, spread with such startling rapidity, that it was with difficulty tho inmates got out, and mado it impossible for any of tho furniture etc,, to bo removed. Tho Kuripuni branch of tho Municipal Fire Brigade was quickly outho scene, and did good work in preventing tho spread of tho'tiro to adjoining properties. The other brigades also turned out, andalthoiiglnmablo to save tho burning building, soon had tho tiro uiuloi control. Wo understand that tho houso was in-, wired for £IOO and tho furniture for £75 in the Standard Office, but in addition to this liasmussen will be a considerable loser.
