Mr A. McKenzic lias returned from his trip to Sydney, looking very much benefitted thereby, On Friday evening after a couple of commituo meetings had been adjourned, to give the floor a trial they went through several dances. This had called forth some severe criticism, some maintaining that the hall has been opened. Surely a committee has a right to do what they think best for the floor without asking the wholo populace to come in and help them.

Mr Hobertson, the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, got thrown from his horse on Saturday afternoon, by its shying at a load of wood. Happily tho rider rceoived no injuries, and was able to resume his journey, On Saturday morning Mrs Wall, mother of Mrs H. 0. Bowman, passed away at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr H, C. Bowman. Her funeral takes place to-dayatMartinborougb, where she is to bo buried.

At yesterday morning's service the Rev. Mr Grace gavo notice of the annual meeting of parishioners, which will take the form of a social, will bo held in St. George's Hall on Tuesday, 24th hist., at 7.30 p.m., and that the confirmation classes will start on Tuesday next, at 3 p.m., in MrsMacShune's schoolroom, which sho has very kindly consontcd to lend for that purpose.
