A liKi'Oiif was lirougbt tin at the County meeting yesterday on thp Mount Baker Bond, but was ruled out of order, as it emanated from less than a quorum of the Committee appointed to consider the matter, It is somuwluit unpleasant that it should fall to tho lot .of the County Council to follow the Supreme Court in an exhaustive discussion on this now famous road line, but Cr von Rcdeu, the Chairman, is to bo commended for insisting that the f urthor I enquiry sjionkl be, frpm every point of view, im impartial pne. It is the duty clearly of the County Council to make an independent investigation, and from tho proceedings yasterdny, we are led to believe that tho public will be disposed to accept tho result of it-wlmlover it may be—as .ft'faii* and houost decision.
