Monthly Meeting. The usual monthly meeting of tho Mastorton Hospital Trustees was held yostorday. Present: Messrs J. C. Boddington (chairman), G. S. W. Dnlrymplo, fiov. Falher McKcmia, Bcctliam, Koith and Feist, MISUTKS. Tho minutes of the previous mcet- ,'<| ing wero read and confirmed. /'■ TRKASUIIMt's lIF.I'OIIT, The Treasurer's report was read, and showed:—General account: Receipts, £475 17s 8d; expenditure. \ £305 2s M; credit balance, £l7O 15s 3d. Instrument account: receipts, £331 10s 3d; expenditure, £333 os6d; debit balance, £llos 3d. BAM. COSIJIITTKK. The report of the receipts and expenditure in connection with the V W recont ball showed a credit Imlanco ,*! . of £Bl4s lOd, on which the subsidy would bo £97 4s lOd, making a total of £l7B 4s Bd. The Chairman proposed a vote of thanks to the Committeo who carried jat the arrangements of the Ball. It well known that the, Ball had been a great social and financial V success. It would doubtless interest thoso who had assisted in the carrying nut of the work and those who had subscribed to the ball to learn this. Ho might iudicato that among other things the land at the back of tho hospital to secure a right-of-way to the institution would bo pur- -. chased. Improvements would bo ■■ mado to tho lavatory and the drains would be improved, He , would move a hearty voto of ! thanks to the committee and to those , who had assisted, j Mr Beethain seconded the motion ( which was carried, I ACCOUNTS. j Accounts amounting to £3O 8s 7d j were passed for payment, . , tffc I'ATIKNTS. ■Mfc During tho month live males were ( C m admitted into, and five discharged j from, the institution. Father McKcnna, y and Mr Keith was appointed, with j reference to preparing the annual » and balance sheet, subsequent to tho j * auditing of tho accounts by tho Go- s venimcnt auditor. c HUE lIUCKKTS, Mr Dnlrymplo moved that twelve , fire buckets should be procured, and e distributed over the building, to s save the institution in case of fire, j TheChairmansecondedthemotion v which was carried. i,
Mr Dalrymple moved that the Secretary bo requested to write to Mr Fairbrother requesting him to forward a model of an earth-closet patented by Mr Campion, of Carterton, with a view to learning the cost of obtaining one.
The Chairman seconded the rcsolution which was carried.
Mr Dalrymple asked what had been done in connection with tho
drainage. The Chairman replied that owing to other arrangements, Mr Bremner had not as yet been able to meet tho Committee.
Mr Dalrymplo stated that Mr Foiile. of Messrs Penty it Forde, architects, had offered to submit a design to theCommittco,of improved* drainage, free of cost.
On the motion of the Rev. Father McKenna a vote of thanks was passed to Jlr Fordo for his offer.
