Charles Linton was charged al Masterton this morning with attempted rape upon J Mlary Slat tcry.on the A lfrcdton road on 23rd of May last. Sergeant McArdle, who conducted the case for the prosecution, applied fjr a remand of the case to Ekctahuna until the 17lh inst. Mr Pownall asked that the remand should bo granted to Mastcrton, as the accused was in very indigent circumstances, and could not travel to, or support himself in, Ekclahuna.
