(By Telegraph.—Press [ Association.) : 'Wellington, Wednesday. At the Municipal Conference it was decided after considerable discussion that Councils may tako over oxisting streets, not less than forty feet wide. Two motions relativo to closing streets when dangerous, and the inspection of dairies wero put aside,as sufficient power already existed. The Committee brought up,a report on tho Municipal ' Corporations Bill, recommending that the. Association should offer no objection to the reduction of tho maximum number of votes from three to two.
