Quarterly Returns.
The quarterly returns at tho Magistrate's Court, Masterton (just compiled by the Clerk, Mr P. H, Ibbetson) show that fifty sittings wore held during tho past quarter. Of these the S.M. presided at thirtythree and Justices at seventeen sittings, Tho nuniber of cases heard wis fifty-eight; civil and judgment summonses issued, nine-y-seyoti ; served, one hundred and eighty. The number of persons takeninto custody civil 'and' judgment summonses was fifty-foui', ;of which number thirty-pne were convicted and fivo committed for" trial.' •The 'amount received iii stanips'forfees and lines', .amounted to £76 Is, Of this sum
