TJie first item was. au .overtavd, " The Soldier's, Thlq " which was well rendered by members of Pearson's Baud, Musical Box Selections ' by Jlr J. Ilai'tman, and a recitation " The Ani and the Cricket " by Miss W, Daniell then followed, and were well received. Mr J. S. W.Pearce, sang^" Call her back ami kiss her," and in response to aii encore' gave " Over tlie way," A concertina solo by Mv Joe Ai'tliurwitbbanjoaccoinpaninient by Arthur Russell,, was creditably given, and was followed by " The: Gates of the West " which Miss Dukes'sang with much expression. Then folio wed n recitation,"Tho little Boy that died," fiy Hiss A, Smith j Sweet Home" which Miss Dennan Bang sweetly and more musical box selections by Mr J, Hartmaun's instrument, The duet, "Tho Minute Gun at Sea" was sung by Messrs Dou'gall and Jack, but both appeared to be suffering from the prevailing colds. Mr J. W. Kewbaw, gave a lluto selection in good style, and was followed by a moral recitation by Master If. Williams, f- Bo careful j what you say/' and a piano duet by Misses P. tiarpentey and Amy Ayillmms, A recitation bj Mr Jones; entitled "The Drunkard's Talp, was w-01l receiyed, white Ifu Geqpge Edwards brought down tho hqiiso with his "Medley up tq Dato/! which must be considered the picket the items in tho programmo. Mr iJas. Bignell followed with a protracted violin solo. Mr L. Donald scored a success in his recitation " The Old Man goes to Town," and the' quartetto "Tho Winds," by Misses; Perry and: Prentice, and Messrs Boagey and Ralph was highly appreciated, as was also " The Tide,' by Messrs Boagey and : Ralph. A hearty vote of thanks was, at tho conclusion of tho programme, passed to those who>had -performed at awl Assisted in- the arrangements of the concert.
