Tho Natives after a spell, did their utmost to score, but all their efforts provod futile. From tho kick-off ■ Barstow secured tho ball, and made a run bnt was knocked out of touch by Norton. From the line-out tho Stare got arushou, but were stopped from scoring by the natives falling on tho ball. From the scrum Hanson passed to Romoni, who passed to Galloway, tho latter touching down behind tho goal posts. Emmett kicked a neat goal. The ball wassoon kicked out, and from a rush Remeni again crossed the line, Emmett placing a pretty goal. Time was then called, leaving tho Stars victorious by 42 points to nil, For the Stare Galloway,Remcni,Skinner, and Hansen, played the best back game, and Emmett, Welch, Percy, Morris, Wrigley and Cochrano (forward) played a splendid game, Emmett s place-kicking was much admired. He registered eight goals from nine kicks, For the losors Pratt, Barstow, Jumbo, and Tai, were the best, The Te Ore Oro backs played without the slightest combination, which practically lost them tho game. Their collaring was weak, and passing was quite unknown to them. Tho forwards played a much game, and worked hard both and in the open. They getting to their •^H^D^ontbelinooutT" lii fact the whole of the team lacked training: My advice to thorn is that they should do more running and get into form. The backs must pass more, and not hang on to the ball so much: they must back each other up, and collar low. The team includes excellent material, and thoy will havo themsolves to blamo if they are behind at tho eud of tho season, , Mr Webb acted as referee, and Messrs Fellingham and Sam as Hueumpires.
■ J, Emniett, of the Red Stars, made a Wairarapa record in place-kicking on Saturday, placing eight goals from nine attempts, from all sorts and conditions of angles.
