THE TIMOTHY CASE.
With regard to the letter forwarded to the Wellington Racing Club by the stewards of tlio United Hunt Club relating to the running of Timothy in the Opou Steeplccliaso at the last meeting of the Hunt Club, the stewards of the Metropolitan Club have held a meeting unddisciissed the subject. The result was that they decided to call upon the Hunt Club to make a further investigation into the running of tho horse in tbe event mentioned, holding that they had power to dp so wider the circumstances, which have already been detailed in these columns, and of which the public are cognisant. They expressed tho opinion also that the evidence taken at the enquiry on the racecourse into tlio running of the horso was releveut to the question as to whether the weighing in short on the part of tho rider was accidental or wilful. The travelling expenses of tho witnesses summoned to give ovidence will be paid by the Metropolitan Club,— Times,
