Robert Seymour, Olub Hotel, Pahiatua. Report favourable. No objections. Mr Tosswill appeared on beLalf of tlio applicant, Robert Seymour on oatli deposed that he had complied with the provisions of tlio Act. Mr Tosswill Kt-atediliatlie intended to iipply for 11 o'clock licenses. Any public amusement was not over generally until nearly 11 o'clock, His Worship : Have you any objection to closo at nine ? (Laughter). Mi'Tosswillsaid hehadvery strong objections.

Mr Tosswill replied in the negative. Tho Chairman: Thon you must take the consequences. ' '' After some discussion Mr Tosswill agreed to apply for leave to maintain tho Club under the Act. Mr Tosswill, for Mr-(Jotter, stated this was a new.application for an",old.■house. The business wfls being earned on under a permit, Tho application was mado by Mr Cotter, and he was not responsible for tho doings of any others who had had the house.
Mr Tosswill. explained, that the business was lit present vested in Mr ißuOkoridge, to wW'JIv Malcolm
had transferred' tlio property temporarily. • ■ Tlie A busmdsa' .was'nowf Mr of the owner stated that the house was more com-pact,-though loss in size, , Timothy Cottor dep6scd that he had purchased tholease of the Union Hotel from'Mr'Bnckeridge. He had in all respects complied with the provision's of the Act.' '
■ Mr Tosswilf said he would apply for a.permit in favourofMr Cotterto carry on.the business until June 13, He i made this application under section 99.
Witness, continuing ' stated'- that Mr Malcolm had ceased to occupy the premises. He had not applied to Mr Malcolm for a transfer of tho license. ' Tho Committco tlion adjourned for luncheon.
