FIRE AT NGAHAURANGA.

The fire at the Moat Export Com- [ pany's works at Ngaliauraiign/whicli ; were partially destroyed by lire last , night, began in tho boiling down ! works, which along with" the manui'o i works were destroyed, The freezing , works are safe. [ In tho portion burned there were, manure-making machinery, drying [ machine, and tallow plant, with n, . twenty horse-power engine, 50 casks , of tallow, 140 drums of ueatsfootoil, i and four hundred tons of manure ' Tho fire brigade went out, but though the Company's staff had been at work from the commencei incut with their own apparatus, it was past one this morning before tho ' fire wis got under, The boiling down works which were destroyed were insured in tho ; Phcenix Ofiice for #2750, tho Com, niercial Union for £750, tho Alliance for £SOO, Tho manure shed was insured in tho Commercial Union for £2OO, making a total of £4200. The Phconix reinsured for £1750, The stqck hi the burnt building was fully covered, but the Company estimate tho loss at £750 on buildings, £750 on manure, makiiiga total of £ISOO, The freezing works, which wore saved by the exertions of tho Municipal Fire Brigade, from tho town, was fully covered, but neither it nor the stock was damaged, The fire will not interfere with tho Company's working.
