FEATHERSTON ROAD BOARD.
Monthly Meeting.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday. Present—Wardens Jlntthews (chairman), Evans, Nix, and W. E, Bidwill.
trkasi'llKß'S STATU MK XT. The overdraft was reported at £932. It was resolved that the Secretary should go to Wellington and interview the Colonial Treasurer re the loan,
ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £515 were passed for payment, COniIKSrOXDKXCK. Correspondence inwards was read from the following
G._ P. Harrison re W, M. Smith running a fence across flte road in front of his section.—Resolved that the Clerk inform him that the Engineer will inspect the work, F. Colo re the lute Hood having wasliedtliemetal off Underbill Road ami asking for remuneration for work done.—Resolved to grant request,
J. Cotter giving use of gravel pit at £1 per acre, the Board to fence olf the acre.—Resolved that Mr Cotter's offer be accepted, provided a suitable site can be found.
W, Urqnart n Road by his property—Left in hands of the Engineer and Warden.
A. R. Homblow asking for the Board to give him part of their printing.—Resolved that application be laid on the table. Peter McLaren wrote stating that he had relinquished his interest in a section at Waipawa,- Resolved that the Secretary write and inform him that the Hoard must hold him liable for rates,
H. Tycr wrote re drain between Messrs Joseph andPhillips'andßattersea, which requires cleaning out and asking that the Ual tersea Road be laid off to the Greytown Road—Left in the hands of the engineer.
i l '. Barrell re the unsafe state of the road near Cross' road, by trees being blown down at the corner of Wakelin's and Cross' sectionsLeft in the hands of Warden Nix. C. Pliarazyn re the road between Clay Creek and the Homestead at Stony Creek,and the Rowikopotuna Road.—The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr- C, Pharazyn, PETITION', A petition from seven residents re the old toll house, was received asking that the same might be removed as it is a rendezvous for swaggers.— This matter was left in the hands of the Chairman mid Secretary, TENDIIW, The following tenders for metalling.the Tutu-District roads wcro readWillis Bros. 2s 2d per cubic yard, Ttitu and District Roads; C. Dowmnan, 2s Bd, District Road, 2s Gd, Tutu Road; E. Kelly, is Gd Tutu Road, Is 3d, District Road ; 11. R. Burgess, 2s 7d, Tutu Road; M. Gaskin, Is 9d, Tntu Road; T. Lawry, Is (Id, District Road; W.R, Goodrick, 2s 3id, District Road; It. Manning, 4s 3d, Tutu Road; T. Greenaway,ls sd, Tutn Road, 2s, District Road; J. T. Bicknoll, 2s, District Road, E, Kelly was the successful tenderer for District Road and T. Greenaway for that of the Tutu Road, engineer's HErOIIT,
Tho Engineer's report was read and received. Thesri matters were left.in thehands of tho Engineer and Warden Nix,' ' Mr" Bidwill reported tbat : .the drains ilpwn his way wanted cleaning out, and asked for the loan of tlio pile-driver after it is finished with at the Kauhautara bridge,—Learo was granted. i . Mr Evans roported that there wero several small matters requiring attention in liis sub-district, and which ho could arrange with the roadman—The engineer was directed to see to this. The Chairman moved that a Works Committee bo appointed at next meeting. A telegram was recoivcd from the Taratahi-Cartbrton Road .Board, asking for a Committeo of the Featherston liond Board to arrange a meeting between them.—lt was decided to meet on Wednesday at 11 o'clock to arrango roWaiohinc protective works, which have become necessary to fche';Waioliine bridge. This being all the business the meeting terminated,
