QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY.
To-morrow (Queeu's Birthday) there will be plenty of amusement at Masterton. Tho principal attraction will naturally he the Hunt Club Sports, to be held at Messrs Lowes and lorns' grounds, for which every preparation to ensure a good afternoon s entertainment has been made by the courteous Secretary, Mr W. Mcienzie. If the weather is at all fino everybody is sure to he there. Some very interesting football mutches will also be played, and those who love to watch the manly gamenot forgetting the gentlo "barrackcr" will have a good time. In the evening the Mastcrton Volunteer Fire Brigade's annual Ball takes place at the Drill Hall, and apart from the fact that the object is a good ono and deserves support, anyone wishing to spend a pleasant evening should secure a ticket. ■ The annual conversazione in connection with tho Mastcrton Presbyterian Sunday School will also take place tomorrow (Thursday) evening, and will doubtless, as usual, attract a largo congregation, , For tlioso who may be desirous of taking a trip to Wellington, or elsewhore, special railway arrangements have been made at excursion ratcs, '
