THE STRANDING OF THE CHELMSFORD.

Auckland, Wednesday.. In connection with the stranding of the steamer Chelmsford, it appears that she left Tutukaka on Friday morning, to work at Whonanaki, bnt finding tho weather too severe to enable them to reach there the steamer returned ■ to. Tutukaka and anchored, During the night a heavy sea railed into the harbour fpl the vessel commenoed to drag, eventually being driven on to tho' beaoh.
