A somewhat painful impression has been created in Masterton through a man presenting a letter of recommendation and applying for admission to theMastarton Hospital, being refused, and dying forthwith' in a boarding house, A considerable number of persona apply for admission to this institution who oannot possibly be accommodated there, and it is necessary to exeroiae the utmost vigilance to prevent improper cases being admitted. But while allowing this,' we do not approve of men who apply |at tho institution being sent into the! to hunt for a doctor and a
dootor's certificate.' There should ba aregularand known boar every day on whiok the medioal officer of the establishment should be present to admit or rejeot applicants. ToserJ a dyine; man to hunt down town after dootors i'b not faable. The Trustees who are responsible for the present method of dealing with applications might with advantage adopt opr suggestion. -
