Taratahi-Carterton Hack Racing Club.

A meeting of the above club was hold at Mr T. Ray's Hotel, Taratahi, on Saturday night, Mr N. Grace presiding, over thirty members beu% present. Tbe report of the Course Ifhproveraont Committee was received, and it j was resolved to invite tender for improving and enlarging the course forthwith, in accordance with the recommendation of the Committee. A plan of a grand stand to seat 800 people, prcpaied by Mr W, B. Alien, was laid on tbe table. A motion was carried that a grand atan in accordance with plan be erecte . and the sight be near by the Clare ville station* It was resolved to issue debentures of £5 eaoh to proyide funds for tho Grand Stand, which is estimated to cost £lso.—Twenty-one debentnres were taken up in the room. Fifty-one new members wero proposed and duly elected. The meeting, was a most enihusinstio one.
