GREYTOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.
Monthly Meeting, (From Our Own Correspondent). The uswl monthly meeting of the above was held last Monday ev«ning, Present; Captain Maguiro (Chairman), Lieutenants Duff and thigh. Firemen T. Fisher,. B, Amos, J. Uawke, ft Hall, E, Cook, W, Bennett, J. Braggins, W. H. Baillic, J. Maguirejunr., W, Humphries, and W. Matthews (Secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, Correspondence was read from Messrs Aitken, Wilson and Co., acknowledging receipt of £25 on account fire engine, and asking that further payments be remitted as soon as convenient,
The balance sheet showing assets to the end of March Inst. JG2S, and liabilities 5, 69 Is, and report, showing the great want of hose, wpro read and adopted. It was resolved to apply to Mr R. Bright fur J3l Is due to two men who . WHtahed a house belonging to him, throughout tho night, after a fire, which had broken out there, had been subdued.
It was (kitlcd to assist the Greytown Brass Band in a torchlight procession to their concert, to bo held on Thursday, 17th. Five now members were elected, A committer, comprising the Captain, Lieuleniuts Haigh and Duff,and Fireman Bennett and Quin (with power, to aid) was appointed to assist in getting up a chrysanthemum ball to be held in aid of tho brigade funds on tho evening of Queen's Biithday. It was suggested by the Captain that all the members attend meetings in uniform.
Tho Secretary was instructed to apply to tho Secretary late Private Band, for rent due. It was resolved to hold n competition praolico on Monday evening,2lst intt.
