Palmmistoh Noam, May 8 A large deputation of Prolntionists interviewed (he Hon. \V, P, Reeves on thu question of the nmendment of the Liquor Act, The Bpoakers highly complimented tbo Minister on hi» ipeech last night, and submitted a' number of questions to him on licensing matturs, Mr Ueevcsdhclaimed any intention of speaking on behalf of the Ministry but said his pergonal feelings were in favour of amending l<at yen's Act in the direction of reducing the number necessary to constitute a valid poll and making a minimum as well js maximum number ol licensee to be reduced; but ho oppose! the simple issue of license or no license being submitted or a bare in .jnrity being substituted for lliree-'lilths or the poll taking place on the same day as the general election, or the closing of hotels on election day. He urged tho iiup< rtanco of 1 decreasing drinking habits by, duration, improving the condition of the working classes, and providing pleasures and recreations for those whose leisuio w their temptation,
