Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.
• Annual Meeting. _ The annual meeting of the Board was held on Saturday. Present: ' ; Messrs F. Deller,J, Stevens, 6. otoens,T, Rayntr, W. B, Allen,6. Carter, H. H. Bonny and H. Braitbwaite. Mr Bunny was unanimously re", eleoted ohaiiman. The Board adjourned whilst the ratepayers' annual meeting was held, only three of the latter being present"*" outside of the.'Wardens. The balance. was read over by the Treasarer and accepted as a true statement of the Board's affaii s, subject to audit, . The Chairman moved a vote of tbaoka to their executive officers Mr H. H. Woltere, of whom he spoke in highly eulogiatio terms, and Mr J. Moncrieff, junr., the rate-collector. The motion was duly carried ind the , Boardreaumed its ordinary business, 1 tbt^M^^^ screwed up by an WQB grante^t^O^^^mi^l on roads on motions. 119 subject; to the usual conditions.: War dens Allen and Hayner were in* atruoted to have the road in front of the Taratahi sale yards metalled at a cost not exoeeding £lO, Mr F. H. Wood consenting to pay half the cost.
It was resolved tha; MrG. Kum» filer's claim for refund off 6 expended on Karaka Bay Road be paid out of the funds of No 8 Ward. Mr H. Hitz was instructed to carry out the work on Kaiwhata Track at the cost of £2O, provided the timber used, be heart of birch and the Vhole be subject to the approval of thj) warden MrF. Moore.
It was resolved to invita tenders for 10 chains of metalling piarute Road near Mr Jury's and toe matter of a drain in the locality be left to Mr Bunny to Bee to. Tlio sum of £4los for expenditure on Driscoll road was voted. Mr G, Stevens was authorised to have handbills posted on the footbridge, Belvedere RoaLMfc /<io - report on means Mr Petersen's The repairs to MakaßsEa bridgHwlbft - m the hands of the chawMHlrbe engagement of an extra band fori a fortnight by Mr Knight was approyed. Warden Mr J. Stevens was authorised to have 2J chains of Dalefield Road extension metalled and warden Allen to expend £3 on repair on Chester Road, Accounts amounting to £615 were passed for pa yment.
