A limelight service was held yesterday evening at the Masterton Salvation Army Banacks, There was a large attendance of friends, sympathizers, and visitors who listened attentively to the rumiingcommentary of Major Vince, Captuiu McMiken and Oaptain Fleming who explained in a graphic and lucid manner the scenes from the " Life of Christ," which were shown by means of a powerful limelight magic lantern, Many of the pictures were exceedingly beautiful and seemed much appreciated, Hymns wore also thrown on to the sheet and the whole audience wero thus enabled to join in th« singing, which was very heartily rendered. Over £•! was taken at the door, and tho Salvation Army in financial mattera sets an example to wealthier BOCfa.

This evening at 8 o'clock an address will be given on " A night in Darkest England," The price of admission has been fixed at one shilling, and this shonld ensure another large audience to witness a most interesting entertainment, Tub magic lantern is Admirably worked and the pictures fully explained by the " Major" and bin adjutants. The " unemployed " may be recommended to spend an hour at the barracks this evening, they will then perhaps appreciate how well-off' they are, in comparison with many of their brothers and Bisters In the Old Country,
