(By Our Own' Correspondent), Wednesday. The first meeting of the Wairarapa Licensing Corwaittoe was held yesterday. In the alwncoof the Chairman, Mrflutcbison, S.M., Mr H. R. Buony j filled that olOce. The Returning Officer wrote, stating he had received notice that A('amDonald,Featherston, hod moved in'tbe Supreme Court for a mandamus to declaie poll void. Tbe Governoient had refused to fee a counsel for kn, and he asked the Committee to consider the matter. It was reaolverj to forward to the Government a motion to the effect that " Tliir, committee is of opinion that GoverDijjant should bear the expense of a test case to clear the confusion that exists on the question of counting the informal votea as voles recorded."
It waa resolved to grant conditional licenses fo £1 per day, limiting the hours to from noon to 5 p.m. The Clerk's Salary was fixed at f25 per annum,
