WELLINGTON CRIME.
Mr, Martin, S.M. (By Telegraph.—Presa Association), Wellington, Tuesday. Threo men named Manning, Murray, and Galloway, charged with burglary and larceny from tbo Paik> kan'ki Hotel, were sentenced tc six months imprisonment. Fred. Prince, charged with stealing six sels of billiard balls, was admilt?d to six months' probation, Mr Martin said as lie was a young well educated men he bad some doubt aa to tbo application of the Act in his case, However, lie would surround the pro. bation with conditions vfhicti would tend to sever the accused from bad associates and bis drinking and gambling habits, He requested Prince to find two sureties in £B9, and bind himself in a similar amount, for good behaviour for twelve months; and further that during tho time of probation Prince should not reside in Wellington, nor within six miles; oE tho city. . ~' -
