Thursday, Another accident here yesterday nearly resulted in Mr N. iVeilsen, it well 'known Dahdield settler, meeting an untimely death. In attempting to drive across a freshet at the usual
ford he found the floods bad swept tho bed away, and bis horse losing foothold, driver, trap and henst Were carried away into the Waiohine River, Mr Noilsen olulolied at a snag as lie passed ond thus managed to save himself, the horse was drowned, its body with the trap and harness being reoovered by the aid ol Mr W. Hansen, who was near the scene i>f the accident,
