At a meeting of tho Wellington Branch of tho New Zealand Medical Association, the recent case at Petor.o —in which a Maori woman died in childbirth, an inquest on the case being held—was taken into consideration, The following resolutions wero passed ;-Moved by Dr. Anson, seo« onded by Dr. Wallace Mackenzie—|(a). "That this Association is of | opinion that Dr. Lamb was justified in refusing to attend the Maori .woman when first called upon on Friday, seeing that another medical man was available j (b) that this association considers that in cases of life and death • no practitioner should teiuse to assist another practitioner, whatever teims they may be on, but that in this case Dr. Lamb, though refusing tar;lmth L Dr. Scanlon, did all thafdjSUty required."
