Bell, w M.H.R., presided, and there were S also present Messrs Petheriok, Kirk, „ Tatura, firadey, Fra>r and Baylis. n The apportionment of payments ' e was-made as follows; Wellington ™ City Couaoil, £1043 18i 6d; Hutt £ County Oounoil, £321 10s; Horo- « whenu'a County Council, £2lB 7s fld j Borough of Melrose, £66 8s di ; Borough of Petone, £B3 14s Cd; Borough of Onslow, £46 16s 9d; , Borough of Lower Hutt, £79 lis lOd; .{ Borough of Karori, £3B 15s 6d; " Wairarapa North County Council, a | "£542786 d; Wairarapa South.County A Council, £SBO 18s 4d; Pahiatua - County Oounoil, £lB7 9s 6d; Borough of Masterton, £llß 17s 4d; Borough of Carterton, £2B 10a; Borough of Greytown, £B6 15s; Borough of Pa- r J hiatua, £l9 19s. Mr fi. Hare moved, " That rs tho settlers of the Waitarapa have for ™ years contributed towards the support of their hospitals and destitute people within the district, this Board is of . opinion that it is unjust to compel g them to contribute towards the support, of tho destitute of Wellington, and it is resolved that the Govern* ' ment be moved in this direction in - order that the Hospital and Gbarit able Aid Act be amended to remove the injustice complained of." Mr W. Beetham seconded the proposal, The Chairman said that the Wairarapa people did not support their own poor, but that tho money oame out of tho funds of the Board, The motion was lost on the voices, -,
