THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.

I misleading Guide. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). Wellington, Wednesday! Beautiful weather prevails to-day. The voting up to noon has been rlack at most booths, except Newtown, Very few vehicles are about. A rush is expeoted in the afternoon. One of the papers issued by publioans, ehpvring electors haw to vote are wrongly drawn up, and as a number of supporters are following its instructions, there will be a large proportion of informal papers, ARRIVAL OF THE NEW WATERBURY. It is not often that the arrival of a shipment of goods in New Zealand waters is so generally welcomed as the arrival of the present parcel of Walerbury watches. By the fire on the Buahine 3000 Waterbubys—gold, silver, and nickel-were destroyed, and this interruption in the regular inflow has kept the market bare till the landing of tho present parcel. The Hon. Dr. Pollen stated in the Legislative Council that 95,000 Adult Males pay the whole of this colony's taxation, maintains its CiWl Service, run its railways andpublio works and form the nucleus of the colony's prosperity; and yet to this very limited population over 120,000. Waterbobjb have been sold and delivered, and the shipment now landing consists of 2880 WiiEimmiTs which is followed by the ElinQr 'Vernon, due 2880 Mobe, all sold already to the wholesale trade who have been waiting supplies for from three to four months. Large as these figures are two other shipments are to arrive before Christmas and we venture to affirm that no other watch can show a sale in New Zealand during the period oovered since the Waterbury advent of One to Eaoh Hunched Watzmdrys. Jewellers and retail dealers will kindly send their orders to our agents as quickly as possible
