The return match between ,tlie above teams, played on the Oval yesterday, resulted in a win for the visitors by 27 runs, The Exoelßiors went first to the wickets, and made 55 runs, of which Richards and Wrigley each contributed 14, The bowling of Saywell and Kndwles was very sevsre, and the rest of the team made a noor stand. Matarawa mad 9 82 runs', A. Welch 16, H. Knowles 18, and Ticehurst 11 being the highest scorers: Biobards and Wickens were the most successful bowlers, Tlie Excelsiors again went in, and had lost five wiokets for 27 runs when time was called, Biohards 6, Bagge 5, Nicol, Johnßton and Harland four each. The smart fielding of the Excelsiors was highly commented on, and although several catches were mulled, some exceedingly pretty playwas witnessed. Harland, Biohards and Nicol especially shone in this division, the latter player taking up smartly one ot the prettiest catches from a hard forward drive that has been seen on the Oval for a considerable time, and deservedly earned the applause of the spectators, The following were the Bcores : Excelsiors,—First Innihus.
