PIGEON MATCH AT TAUHERENIKAU.

A match an above was held in a paddoob behind tbe hotel yesterday kfternoon. Neither the number of competitors or spectators equalled that of preyiouß years. For tbe Cup there were only twelve competitors, half of whom wwe from North Wiirarapa. Mr D. Burt officiated a referee, Wi Butrnia secured the Grst priae, cup valued at i>lo and £2 added,J. Meredith second £4,Bidwill, Feast and Campbell third, each £l, [ Owing to tho careful handicapping of Mr W. B, Bone, the matohea were very closely bootested, and were conducted without the least delay or hit'oli. ..'
