FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Featherston Town Board was held yesterday, when all the members, and Mr 0. T. Natusch, the Board's architect, were present. • After measuring the site in order to ascertain the best position for the Hall, tenders were read as follows: -H. Humphries (Greyiown), £750; Jno. Hamilton and Co. (Wellington), £IO3O. These were found to be considerably in excess of the funds available, and after considerable discussion H was resolved to adjourn the meeting until next Friday afternoon, to onable the- architect to see Mr Humphries with a view of reducing the tender by omitting certain works, such as finish, ing the interior of the hall, eto;
