Oriental Football Glut.
The Oriental Football Club .held their annual meeting in the Empire Hotel last night, tbei'o being present between 80 and 40 members, Mr George Hansen waa in the obair, and briefly explained the object of the meeting. The rninuieß oE the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The following new members were I proposed:—Messrs Cameron,. Green, Baggo, Evernden, Weller, Cooper, MeEllvel, Croll, Uui'db, Redmond, Hansen, Merrick, Ibbetson, Sutton, A . Owen, lloar, Harland.'H. Arnold, Shepherd,
The following officers for the ensuing year were elected:—Patron: Mr 6. S, W. Dalrymple; Presidents: Messrs E. M. D. Whatman.T. Thompson.snr.; Vice-Presidents: Mr T. Shaw, Dr. Bnternent, Mr J. Williams, Eev. FatherMoKenna, Mrj;Webl>, Mr Edgar Eton, Mr A. E, D'Arcy, Mr Cargill and Mr 0. Hughes. Mr Robert Jackson was ro«eleoted Captain without opposition, Mr Jackson, on accepting the position, hoped he would haye obedience and co-operation in his- efforts ito make a good' name for the Olub, Vice-Captain ;Mr Bennett; Sec; Mr Johnston; Treasurer.JMr B, Bagge; Match Conimitte: Messrs Bennett,? Richards, Wellington; Management Committee: Messrß JNicol and Gardener,
It was proposed and curried that the second fifteen match committee be elected at the next meeting,, The colours of the Club will be the same as last year, It was proposed by Mr Bennett that the subscription be raised to ss. The motion was lost, Propoped by Mr'Hansen that the subscription remain the same as last ye'ar, viz, 2s fid, which was carried unanimously. .-'.'.■' - It was proposed and carried that six weeks be given to the members to pay in their subscription. ..■lt was resolved to allow no members to play in first fifteen matches without the colours.
It was proposed by Mr Hansen that a social be held at the end of the season. . Carried, ■ ■> It was roaolVed to hold the first p aotuse on April 13tb. A vote of tbauks was passed to Mr T, Thompson for loan of his room and the meeting terminated, Mr V 7. McKenzie, formerly of tho Wairarapa, has been unanimously elected skipper of the Petone Foutball Club. ■' Mr T. Hudson, late t>f the Bed Stars, has taken up his residence at Petono, and will play for the local Club during the coming season.
