COMMERCIAL.
Mr F, H, Wood's fortnightlystoolr sale : at' .the Taratahi yards was held yesterday, and was largely attended. The yards were fairly well filled with sheep, but very fewoattle, only about 60 head came forward. Prices on the whole, were firmer, showing an upward tendency, and ;are quoted as under:—
Sueep.-Lambs in the wool, 4s Gd to 5s 8d; do shorn, 2s 7d to 3s 6d; store owes, 8s to 6s ; - fat ewes, 6s 3d to 7s 6d j 2-to'oth ewes 'and wethers (forward), 8s 4d. ; ',,;'OAmE,.-ioalyeß,2ss to 28s; yearlings, 4()s; dairy cows, 80s to 120s; s tore qo ws,- 40a to At the close of the sale the auo lioneer (Mr F, JH. Wooi) announced i tbat||6wing to the Thursday half-holi day, and the numerous fixtures' for that day in the shape o.f Races, Hunt Club meets, pigeon matches, rifle do, etfc., and at the request of a number of his customers, he had decided to alter the day of his sales for the future from Thursday to Tuesday. If at aay time the Thursday half-holiday was abandoned, he would revert to that day for the stock Bales.
