IMPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES.

The annual district meeting of Reobabites was held at Wellington on Wednesday evening last, the Wairarapi Tents being represented by Messrs D. Hall (Masterion) and W. Gaudin (Carterton). The District Secretary read the annual report for the year 189S, which stated that the membership not including the juvenile branch was 1078, of which 1005 wa3 benefit members, and 73 honorary, £645 16s 2d was paid from the various Tents sick funds for 692 weeks 5 days' sickness, this being about 4 days 3 hours for each member, and 12s 9d for each, higher than' the : previous year by one hour and ls6Jd, Ten deaths took place io the year—6 brothers, 1 sister, and 3 brothers' wives and tho sum of JE2OB 2a w«s p->id from the tuneral fund, as against 11 deaths aud £2lO of the previous year. The Tent Sick and Contingent Funds showed a considerable increase, as also did the District Funds. The Tent funds amount to £14,585 14s 6d and the District Funds to £4,833 2s 10d: total, £18,918 17s 4d, this being at the rate of 418 16s s|d per member, an increase of £1 Is lOd over last year's record. The District - Officers had appointed official visitors to visit all the tents in the district, and a circular would be sent to all tent secretaries oalling attention to the sew general loan, which has for its object the equalisation of the sick funds, and comes into force at 'the beginning of this year.
