The regular fortnightly meeting of the Masterton Borough Counoil was held last evening. Present—Hia Worship the Mayor, ami Cra Dixon, v Hornblow, Mutrie, Yates, Feist, Chamberlain and Perry. MOTES. Renall wrote'drawing 9 attention to the violation of the build- H ing regulations in the erection of the B W.F.CJ.'s additions to their Master- M ton premises. 8 Cr Feist moved that Mr Renall be V informed that tho matter has been 1 already dealt with by the Council.- 1 Cr Cullen seconded and the motion - 1 was carried. j GAS LAMPS. Several residents in tho neighbourhood of Dixon street and Worksop Road petitioned the Counoil for the erection of a gas lamp. - The report of the pointed-to-t'SDffdSTfEe'p^^nM erecting more lamps reported in favor of erecting three; one at the corner o£ Ross and Dixon Street, one at tho corner of Wrigley and OhaAol Street; and one at the corner of Sussex Street and Worksop Road. Cr Yate3 said they had objeoted to lay gas to Mr Pragnell's on tho score of cost. He thought tho lamp in Dixon Street could be done without. Cr Dixon thought the Worksop Road lamp should be lower down than Sussex street. Cr Cullen spoke in support of the petition. Cr Feist and the Mayor thought that the lamp at the corner of Ross •... . and Dixon Street might be dona without, Cr Hornblow pointed out that the street suddenly narrowed at this point, and a lamp was muoh required* Cr Dixon said that the lamp they proposed to do without was tho one must needed.
