D Deputation to the Ministef of * Lands, (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, Wednesday. 1 A deputation from Pahiatua waited on the Minister of Lands thismorn- , ing, with referense to the construction of a bridge over the Mangatainok a River, near Pahiatua township. 0 A vote of £SOO was passed on the * estimates laat session as a subsidy towards tbe cost of this work, and the deputation wanted .the Minister 6 to hand this money over to tbe Pah- " latua Borough Council, on condition . that the Council raised £ISOO, Mr McKenzie replied that there would ? be no difficulty so far as the £SOO was concerned, provided the plans 6 were approved of. Ho said that Mr Reaney, the officer in charge of the roads in tho Pahiatua district, would be asked to inepeot the plans, and report to the Department. When 0 that report was received, a reply 0 would be forwarded as to the granting of the subsidy.
