Finance Committee Meeting. A meeting of the Finance Committee of the above Council wns held this morning. Present; Crs Maun* sell, (Chairman), Guild, von Rcden, Cockburn-Qood, and Smith. Minutes. The minutes of the last meeiißg were read and confirmed. Treasurer's Report. The Treasurer's report showed a credit balance at date of £1902 2a Bd. The time Bheet amounting to £B3B 19s 9d was recommended for payment. Tahataui-Oarthrton. It was resolved that, subject to the approval of the Taratohi»Cafterton Road Board, Mr MoLachlan's application for travelling allowance at the rate of 5s per day when engaged for for that body, outside the county limitß, be granted. TAWATAI TOLL. Cr Smith moved and Cr CockburnHood seconded that the Committeo recommend to the favourable consideration of the Council, the application of the Alfredton School Committee, for permission for Miss Groves, the teacher at the Alfredton School, to be allowed to pass through the Tawatai toll-gate free, when on school business. PAHIATUA COUNTY. Cr Smith moved and Cr von Reden seconded, that the Committee recommend the Council to apply to the Pahiatua County Council, for the contribution (amounting to ono half cost), which it is understood that body arranged with the late Alfredton Boad Board, to make towards the construction of that portion of tho Pah Valley road lying b keen the bmjndiry o"f Clapbam's property and the Mangaone River.—Carried. The meeting then adjourned.
