FEATHERSTON ROAD BOARD.

Monthly Meeting,

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board Aas held last Saturday. Present Wardens A. Matthews (Chairman), W, Bidwill, Nix, EvanH, Hairis, J. Donald, andMcLeod, The Treasurer reported overdraft as £844 3s 9d. Rates to the amount of £22 03 7d has been colleoted binco last meeting, and the rate collector is suing lor close on £IOO. Tlie Chairman and Warden Donald were appointed to sign cheques. An aocount for pulling coitonwood on Uoderhill and Woodsido roads was referred back- to the Overseer, and subsequently passed for payment. An account for burial of a horse in Mar" tinborough was referred io Constable Buwden, with a view of having the amount reduced. Other accounts to the amount of £574 2a 2d wore passed for payment. Correspondence inwards was read from Wm. Fuge, asking for permission to take gravel from Board's pit to partly fill in drain opposite his house, and to carry drain through his own property at bis own expense,—Permission was gyanted, From John Martin,asking theßoard to include the Branch road to his land at Oyster Shell in Mr Thompson's prqqlamation, und for a plau of tho road from Pabaoa Main road to Gladatone showing his fence That one span on theßuannhunga road appears to be weak,

From Skey and Co, requesting at some length the Board to their decision regarding the weight allowed to cross bridges, They had made extensive contracts, and if their large engine was restricted from crossing bridges, they would not only be heavy losers, but would be liable to actions or breach of agreement,

The Chairman was instructed to make tuUnd at the Council next Monday week, and the Board was unanimous, that the rule allowing only ten tons to cross bridges, be not at present rescinded. From the Wairarapa South County Council asking if the road through Papawai to Waihakeke from Greytown was a legal one.
