Lyons' Operatic Burlesque. Company.
. The Lyons 1 Opetatiq Burlesque Company opened last evening in the Mastertoo Theatre Boyal; and judging by tho applause and frequent recalls, the pieoe was heartily approbated by the audieaoe. The que went smoothly from finish, As Prince NicipioijTus's Jessie Leon, created a very favorable impression, her acting and Binging gaining the hearty plaudits of the audience. Her efforts were wel}seo< ondeS by Prince Bweetie Petti (Mjsi| Addie Towers), who also had to respond to repeated encores, Tqe. comic elrment of the piece was supplied by " The Grand Vizier" (Mr Percy Clifton), who kept the audiencein'roaraiof laughter. : His singing of a oomio medley, •'Pa and Ma," and " Anniebody's Boqney." afforded him: exceptional scope' for Bbowing7 his versatility -to. good; advantage, oharaoter ; vocalisation being exceed-; ingly good, and his by-play funny. : Mr Joe Stark'was : ; also sudS cessful, in his ■ impersonation; King.Caotafl, ofPeraiav-ancl the otheri i chatabttirs,;;wetel'Wdkfiilie'bV -;Miss|
Violet Bertram's excellent contralto voice was heard to advantage in "The Magio of Music," and "Daisy Dell" was well rendered by Miaa Addio Towers, The sensation of the evening was certainly the-rainbow serpentine daheo by Miss Blanobe Young, whose graceful evolutions met with the entire appreciation oi those present, and called for an entbußiastio encore, The costumes were vory pretty and the accompaniments and overtures by Professor Douglas oxcellently played, To-night the com. pany will produce the celebrated Gaiety piece" Faust up to Date."
