Milnbr Sxephis, the faith healer, is dead. Ho came to Masterton as a ' septuagenarian and: did some marvellous work in this town, but on his 1 return as an ootogenarian last, year it was apparent that his speoial gift was 1 weakened, Hie faith remained, but ■ his healthy power w*s diminished. Hie New Zealand tour was a financial failure and ho was unable to pay his way.; Then, too, he wbb iffeoted by the Australian bank suspension, and ■ it is no wonder that at his great age his stresgth failed him and he suooumbed to his troubles. We always regarded him as an honest man,. though we believe he overi estimated his own powers, and in.so doing would cheerfully undertake impossible tasks. He was, outside ' outside America, one of the meat . prominent spiritualists of the day.
