THE APITI POISONING CASE.
(By Telegraph,—Press Association.) Naneb, January 17. With respect to the poisoning at TeApiti, there were nine sufferers, including Mrs Ernest Tanner and two other visitors, fir Lewis Beid, who was sent for, found the sufferers better than be expected, and when he left last evening they were all in a fair way of recovery. Suspicion fell on salt and bread, samples of which and of the vomit were taken by the doctor for submission to the Government analyst. Meanwhile the police will investigate the occurrence, Mr Beetbatn does not suspect any person of wilfully administering tbe poison,' believing it got among the stores accidentia while they were being carried by rail, Later. Napier, Thursday. Nine persons altogether at Te Apiti who partook of porridge and mince ' meat suffered. The police have the matter io hand, but wilful poisoning ' is not suspected, The cook is again among the sufferers, although he is not the same man as was employed . there when the previous poisoning was reported.
