MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
Monthly Meeting.
'; The regular monthly meeting of tho Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday last at'noon, Present Messrs Cameron (in tho chair) Harris, Holmes and McKenzio. MINUTES, The minutes of the last meeting wow read and confirmed, DSPUTATION. Messrs Alex Johnston, Robert Johnston and David Donald waited on the Board to request that something 'bo dono to protect the road toPotoirau. It was stated tint'he,; deputation and Mr. W. lorns would undertake tot maintain the work if the sum of Ll'O was granted by tho Board. Afier the discussion it was resolyed that upon the persons interested giving a wntton guaranteo to maintain the protective works the sum of LlO be granted towards the said works ROAD CONNKOTIOK. It was resolved that Mr Harris be requested to interview Messrs Angus McLeod, Alex, McLeod and Bruce n their giving the land necessary to make a connection between the Upper Opaki and Bruce's roads, and on whattorraß, FINANCE REPORT. The report of the Finance Committee was read an J adopted, accounts amounting to £l5B 17s 3d being passed for payment enoineek'b report. Tho engineer's report was read. It was decided to vote an additional sum of £ 4 Is 8d for the completion of tho drain on the Uppor Fernridge road extension. Mr Holmes was appointed to interview the settlers interested in protecting the Upper Fernridge road extension to see what they are prepared to contribute, i.ml in ibe event of satisfactory arrangements being made it was decided to proceed with the work. The report was then adopted and tho meeting adjourned.
