Whiting seconded this, and said it was useless to expect assittance from the Mayor, because the Minister had thrown a wet blanket over him. The motion was carried. A deputation waited on Mr Lnmas at the Labour Bureau and readu letter to the Mioiser fpr Labour, in which the number of un. omployed was poiiitedout,and a request made that work should be provided, No mention was made of the resolution passed in tho Square. The twenty men sent to Cheviot last night wero selected by Mr Lomas on Saturday. Their employment was not the result of yesterday's meeting.
