Messrs Abraham and Williams held tbeir fortnigbtly'stock sale at Pabiatua on Wednesday last, with a good entry of cattle of all classes, prices ior which were firm. Sheep were represented by hoggets, for which thero was a good demand. Wood's Taiatahi Stock Sale. Morecattlo came forward than had been advertised, and sheep vrere fairly well represented. The attendance of buyers was good, but bidding far from spirited, and several lots of both sbeep and cattle were passed in, owing, no doubt, in many cases to the fact tint vendors had placed reserves on them in excess of market values, which wbb referred to and commented on pretty strongly by the auctioneer. In all places where fair reserves were placed tho stppk sold readily enough. Where there is a large' attendance of buyers if owners desire to set], reserves are almost unnecessary, Many vendors aro beginning to realise this, and enter their stock entirely without reserve.
