Messrs Lowes and lorns Stock
Sale Report,
Owing to the bad weather a considerable quantity of stook was short yarded, but the atteudauco of buyers was not in anyway diminished and the bidding for cattle continued good, dairy cows and heifers were thefeature of the sale and met with quiok demand atoapitnl prices, Dairy cows newly calved realised from *7 5s to £Blos and to calve early from £6 to £810s; dairy heifers in calf, 95s to £6; a good liue of young cows from the Lower Valley brought from £7 7s to £8 j young cattle, full rates; old ewes aud lambs, 7s 6d; culled hoggets 4s Od ; young pigs were ia demand and sold fieely at fiorn 7s to lis; a number of haoks were sold at prices varying from £2 to £B. Two very graud draught colts were on view at the sale imported by Mr Clark, of Ashburton, and submitted to auction, the £ year old " Roseneath Prince" bred by Mr Clark, out of " Damsel" by" Grown Prince" was sold to Mr John Rayner at 200 guineas; the 3 year old "Kings Pride" a fashionably bred Imbo by King of the Vanquishers failed to reach his owners reserve. He was much admired and as he is open for private sale for a few daysj may probably find a purchaser.
