The House of Commons was packet! yesterday to bear the debnte on the third reading stage of the Home Rule Bill, The motion wob carried by a majority of 84, amid frantio and prolonged cheering and counter cheering, Messrs Chamberlain and Balfour delivered speeches-dfrsnuraal 'brilliancy, and confident that the British majority throughout the country would reject the Bill. Mr Balfour deolared that the insano notion of the Government had dono more tlian a hundred Tory Governments to demonstrato the necessity for the Houso.of Lords. Mr L. Oourtnev'B amendment for the rejection of the Homo Rule Bill was negatived by 801 to 267. Mr Gladstone received a great ovation on bis arrival at Whitehall, A great crowd outside Parliament Buildings surrounded and repeatedly stopped his carriage, He was cheered wildly until he entered the House of Commons, where tho momberß rose as one man.
_ The Bill has been read 11 first in the House of Lords. * y*i% MrW. Redmond, M. P., sails for Sydney on the 2?ndinst.' At 12,50 the Speaker deolared that Home Kale Bill had passed, When this was announced the Liberals rose land accorded Mr. Gladstone a great ovation.
On returning to his tho Premier's carriago was' escorted by thousands, ruunjngand cheering and singing "Unitedlreland." -
On Monday Mr Gladstone will move that the wholo of the autumn session shall be devoted to Government business, and he has stated that no motions tabled with a view of obstructing business will be permitted.
