If necessary, the Government would, without the slightest hesitation, guarantee the deposits of tbe Auckland Savings Bauk ; so assured were they of its position being thoroughly end absolutely sound.
Later, Confidence Restored. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). The Colonial Treasurorhas received an offioiul intimation that !ho run on the Auckland Savings Bank has ceased and confidence is now restored, and a largo nmount of money is being re-deposited.
